Changes to the system・exams：This field was added in 2026。Guidance on the operational guidelines was posted on 18 September、but this does not mean exam applications have opened。It is not covered by Specified Skilled Worker (ii)。
Check the official guidance for exam fees。Fees may vary by country、category、and exam session。
Distinguish exam fees、pass certificate issuance fees、and the cost of any separately required qualification exams。Also check the rules for changing bookings・cancellation・retaking the exam before paying。
As a rule、JLPT N4 or higher or a JFT-Basic score of 200 points or higher assessed as A2.2（A2） is required。With only a JFT-Basic assessment of A1・A2.1、this requirement is not met。
For exemptions for successful completion of Technical Intern Training No. 2 or similar qualifications、check the correspondence between fields and job types・tasks。Before taking an exam、check the applicable conditions using your completion certificate or similar documents。
Even if you pass an exam、a job or approval of your status of residence is not guaranteed。Besides exam eligibility、check the employment contract and residence application requirements。

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism guidance from September 2026、the start date for the Specified Skilled Worker (i) Skills Evaluation Test is being coordinated and remains undecided。Once decided、exam dates・application methods will be announced。
