This page summarizes the Specified Skilled Worker Type 2 evaluation exam for the accommodation field, based on official information from the Accommodation Industry Proficiency Test Center (CAIPT) and ZENRYOREN. Type 2 is an exam that checks skilled ability, and applicants must prove at least 2 years of work experience at an accommodation facility while guiding multiple employees.
In FY 2026, the temporary suspension from April 17 to 29 ended, and tests through March 10, 2027 are currently listed. Before booking, you must submit a work experience certificate and obtain an application number.
CAIPT states that reservations can be made up to 59 days in advance, reservations and changes are possible until 23:59 three business days before the exam date, and rebooking the same exam is possible after 45 days have passed from the day after the exam date.

To take the exam, you must submit a work experience certificate. After CAIPT checks the documents, you will receive an application number to use for Prometric reservations.
You can view the result notice in your Prometric account within 5 business days after the test date. Successful candidates' ID numbers are published on the CAIPT official website within about 30 days after the test.
To issue a certificate of passing after passing the exam, both the successful applicant and the hiring company must apply. It cannot be issued if employment has not been decided.
