Both can be used for SSW 1 Japanese requirement. JFT-Basic has more test dates in some countries, so it may be faster.

But for life and work in Japan, studying until N3 level is better.

I took JFT-Basic because in my country it had more test dates than JLPT, and the result came out faster.

If your main goal is only to meet the SSW Japanese requirement quickly, JFT-Basic may be better.

But for working in Japan, N4 is not really enough. At work, people speak fast, and you need to understand instructions, safety rules, schedule changes, and how to report problems.

Pass JFT-Basic or JLPT N4 first, so you can apply for SSW.

After that, keep studying toward N3.
