I’m worried about choosing the wrong company.
If I go to Japan with SSW and the company is bad, can I change jobs?

You can, but don’t do it casually.

You need a new company that can accept SSW workers.
Same field is usually easier.

Visa procedures may be needed Talk to support organization first.

Yes, it’s possible, but it’s not like changing a part-time job. You need another company that can hire SSW workers, and the paperwork has to be done properly.

A lot depends on your contract too. Some companies are decent until you arrive, then suddenly the overtime, dorm rules, or salary are different from what they promised.
Before changing jobs, make sure you keep copies of:
- employment contract
- pay slips
- residence card
- support organization contact
- any messages from the company
I know a guy who changed after 4 months because the company was forcing unpaid overtime. Immigration didn’t care that he changed, but they checked whether the next company was properly registered for SSW.

Don’t quit first without a plan.
A friend of mine quit too early and almost got stuck because he couldn’t find another company fast enough. Your visa doesn’t instantly disappear, but you still need to stay employed under the SSW system.
Try to secure the next employer before leaving the current one if possible.
